Judge Diane D'AgostiniJudge Diane D'Agostini was elected a 48th District Judge in 2000 and has been reelected in three subsequent elections winning all precincts in each election. She presides over criminal (misdemeanor and felony) cases, civil matters up to $25,000, landlord-tenant and traffic cases handling bench and jury trials, pleas, motions, sentencing, arraignments, search warrants, formal hearings and other matters. The Michigan Supreme Court has appointed her Chief Judge for four terms.

Judge D'Agostini finds great reward in teaching our youth about the law. She formed a program directed specifically for children called, "Order in the Court" The program has involved thousands of local 4th graders coming to court to learn about the law in a simple and age appropriate manner, featuring a mock trial staged by the students. It has earned "favorite field trip" comments by many of the school children and has become an annual field trip for many of the local schools. She is also a mentor with the Women of Tomorrow Mentoring Program working to inspire and motivate young women to live up to their potential.

Judge D'Agostini devotes much of her professional and personal time to educating our youth about the dangers of underage drinking and drug use. She holds court sessions at local schools so that students can view the direct ramifications of drug and alcohol use and is involved with the Birmingham/Bloomfield and West Bloomfield Community Coalitions. Judge D’Agostini has also developed the court’s Hybrid DWI/Drug Treatment Court focused on keeping the community safe while treating offender addictions thru intensive supervision.

Judge D’Agostini was recognized as the Timeless Hope Honoree for her service by United Community Family Services in 2020; a WONder Woman by the Women Officials Network in 2019 and an Esteemed Woman in 2016 by the Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic. In 2012, she was selected as the Distinguished Alumna of Mercy High School and received the Excellence in Women’s Leadership/Public Service award by MEA TV/Radio. She was recognized with the Domestic Violence Prevention Award by the Oakland County Coordinating Council Against Domestic Violence in 2012 and was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Chaldean/American Bar Association in 2009.

Prior to being elected a District Judge, Diane D'Agostini served as an assistant prosecutor in Oakland County for nine years. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in journalism from Wayne State University and was published in several local magazines before going to law school. Judge D’Agostini graduated cum laude from the Detroit College of Law, presently Michigan State University, College of Law and furthered her legal studies at Oxford University in England.
