Vaccination Date Requirements

In order to purchase a three-year dog license, your pet's vaccination expiry date must coincide with the date of the dog license. For example, in the year 2023 a three-year dog license will have a year of 2025 (three years out). If you wished to purchase a three-year dog license in 2023, then your dog's rabies vaccination expiration date must run through 2025.

Oakland County dog licenses are good for a calendar year (January - December). The year can be found above the serial number on the front of the tag.

There is a grace period to purchase your dog's license for the current rate, January 1st through June 1st. However, most times the dog licenses go on sale December 1st.
