The Court Administrator, under the administrative direction of the District Court judges, is the Chief Executive Officer of the 50th Judicial District Court. The Court Administrator is responsible for overseeing preparation of the budget, fiscal control, personnel management and court policies, procedures and reports. The Administrator is also responsible for staying abreast of pending legislation and current decisions for their possible impact on the court, and keeping judges and court officers advised of potential changes in court procedures. Serving as a liaison for the District Court Bench, the Court Administrator interacts with legal entities at the county and state levels.

The 50th Judicial District Court Clerk’s Office plays an important role in processing civil, criminal and traffic cases. This office is very service oriented, frequently interacting with the public, attorneys, and law enforcement officers. All records of fees, fines, bonds and other receipts and disbursements are processed and maintained in this office. The Clerk’s Office also prepares warrants, subpoenas, and other legal forms.

Uniformed and armed officers of the 50th Judicial District Court perform a variety of duties including serving as bailiff, transporting prisoners to and from jail, opening the courtroom, and ensuring its readiness for court proceedings. Court officers deliver court files to the judges, call cases to court and direct parties to the appropriate courtroom. The court officer also announces the entrance of the judge, provides security while the court is in session, calls jurors, provides their protection, and assists at arraignments.
