A juvenile guardianship is an alternative permanency plan that provides the child with a secure attachment to an appropriate caregiver. The court may appoint a juvenile guardianship pre- or post-termination of parental rights.

  • Permanency option in neglect/abuse cases.
  • Available for temporary and permanent court wards when reunification or adoption have been ruled out.
  • Child has resided in prospective guardians home for a minimum of six consecutive months prior to applying for guardianship assistance.
