Alexandra Black

Alexandra BlackAlexandra Black became an employee with the 1st Division of the 52nd District Court in June of 1995. In June 2014, she was promoted to the position of Court Administrator.

The District Court Administrator serves as the chief executive officer for the Court and is responsible for a wide range of duties and responsibilities that require extensive administrative and managerial skills. These responsibilities include overseeing the court’s administrative operations, facilities, and budget and case management procedures. In addition, the court administrator acts as a liaison between the court and public or private organizations.

Ms. Black was awarded the 2013 President’s Award for Outstanding Service and Leadership in the Drug Treatment Court Field. She was instrumental in the development of the court’s Sobriety Court and implemented Opiate Court beginning in 2013. She has been the president of the Albanian-American National Organization for 20 years and a board member for the Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals since 2015.

Ms. Black received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Oakland University in 1991. She further earned her Master of Science Degree in Law and Public Policy with a concentration in Homeland Security in 2010.
