Inclusion services are offered so that individuals with disabilities can participate in any program or event hosted by Oakland County Parks.

A certified therapeutic recreation specialist coordinates programs for individuals with disabilities and provides training to staff and volunteers to assist individuals during general recreation programs. Partnerships with more than 30 non-profit agencies, schools and disabled sports organizations enable Oakland County Parks and Recreation to cooperatively provide unique recreational options. Voter approval of the 2020 OCPR Millage Replacement and Increase allows us to provide a free Annual Vehicle Permit to persons with permanent disabilities. Learn more here.

Halloween Happiness

Halloween Happiness, an event for individuals ages 18 and older with developmental disabilities, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Southfield Civic Center. The event will include music, dancing, trick or treating and pizza. Cost is $10/participant and $5/caregiver. Preregistration with payment required by Monday, Oct. 23. Call 248-858-0916 to register. Boot Scootin' Boogie

Boot Scootin’ Boogie, for individuals ages 18 and older with developmental disabilities, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 16 at Auburn Hills Parks and Recreation, 1827 N. Squirrel Road in Auburn Hills. The event will include a DJ, music, dancing and pizza. Cost is $10/participants and $5/caregiver. Preregistration with payment required by Friday, Nov. 10. Jingle Bell Ball

Jingle Bell Ball, an event for individuals ages 18 and older with developmental disabilities, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 12. The event will include music, dancing, a visit from Santa and pizza. Almost New Year's

Almost New Year’s, an event for individuals ages 18 and older with developmental disabilities, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Royal Oak Mahany/Meininger Community Center or Dec. 28 at the Waterford Oaks Activity Center. The event will include music, dancing, pizza and New Year’s Eve activities. Cost is $12/participant and $6/caregiver. Preregistration with payment required by Wednesday, Dec. 20.
