WIC Is Open and Ready to Serve You!

Welcome back WIC clients! We are very excited to see you in the office (for first visit certifications and annual recertifications).  An in-person WIC appointment lets us check you and your child's growth and health. It also helps us provide your family the best resources and referrals available.

An in-person appointment includes:

  • Weighing and measuring your child to ensure good growth and development
  • Checking blood levels related to iron
  • Providing nutrition counseling to you and answering your family's questions and concerns
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Providing personalized referrals to other programs and services
  • Opportunities to catch-up on immunizations or receive a lead screening

We will let you know before your appointment if it is in-person or remote. For your appointment, bring your ID, Medicaid card and/or proof of income, and proof of pregnancy or birth certificate.

Questions? Contact WIC at 248-858-1272.

Oakland County Health Division nurses will be at the Pontiac WIC clinic on Mondays to do lead testing. The testing is done at your WIC appointment and is a quick finger-prick to get a sample of blood. To learn more about lead poisoning in children, click here.
