1) How do I get tickets?
Tickets are available up to three days in advance online or at the waterpark. Please note: online ticket sales stop at 2 p.m. for same-day admission; on-site ticket sales stop daily one hour before the park closes.
2) When is the waterpark open?
Days/times can vary throughout the season. Check our operational schedule for current hours.
3) Do tickets sell out?
Yes, in the past, Red Oaks Waterpark has sold out several times during the season. Purchase tickets ahead of time online or at the waterpark to ensure entry. Once the park is sold out, no more tickets for that day are sold.
4) Do I have to buy a ticket if I don't plan to swim?
Yes, everyone entering the waterpark must purchase a ticket. Infants ages 0-23 months old need a free child entry ticket.
5) What is the Oakland County discount and who is eligible to receive it?
Since Oakland County residents pay a millage to support the park system by helping fund the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission and support the park system, residents receive a discounted ticket rate. A photo ID showing Oakland County residency is required to receive the discount.
6) Can I bring in my own food?
Yes, Red Oaks Waterpark is the perfect spot for a picnic! While concessions for snacks and treats are available on site, patrons are welcome to bring in their own lunch, dinner or snacks. However, no glass or alcohol is allowed on the premises.
7) Can I bring my own chairs?
Because of the limited deck space, we provide chairs on a first-come, first-served basis. No outside chairs are allowed. We do ask on busy days that patrons share chairs when they are not using them.
8) Can I exit the waterpark and re-enter?
Yes. A staff member at the main entrance will fit you for a unique wristband before you exit. This wristband, provided that there is no damage or modifications made to it, will ensure your re-entry.
9) Do I have to wear a swimsuit?
Yes, the Oakland County Health Division requires all bathers to wear clean, proper swimming garments that are lightweight and free of restriction so they do not interfere with the ability to swim. All clothing, including swimsuits, must adhere the local and state laws for public places as well as waterpark rules. Street clothes are not proper swimming attire.
10) At what age can my children attend the waterpark by themselves?
We recommend that no children be unaccompanied in the waterpark. However, those at least 12 years old whose parents/guardians deem them responsible enough to attend without adult supervision will be granted entry.
11) Are strollers or pack and plays allowed?
We understand that taking little ones to the waterpark is complicated and takes a lot of stuff. We gladly allow parents to bring strollers and pack and plays. However, when the waterpark is crowded, we ask that patrons be conscious of space and stow these items away when not in use. Also, please note that Red Oaks Waterpark is located in an open area that often experiences strong winds, so for safety reasons, lightweight items like pack and plays must be weighted down once set up. We do not allow anything to be staked into the ground.
12) Can I bring a beach umbrella?
Due to lack of protection from high winds, beach umbrellas are not allowed in the waterpark. Handheld parasols or umbrellas may be used, but must be closed and stowed away when not in hand.
13) Can I bring water toys or inflatables to the waterpark?
Water toys, inflatable toys and inflatable swim aids are not allowed into the waterpark.
14) Can I bring my own life jacket or swim aid?
Patrons are welcome to bring their own life jacket if it is U.S. Coast Guard-approved. To check, look for the Coast Guard seal on the inside of the jacket. Swim aids, such as inflatable water wings, are not permitted. The waterpark does have a limited supply of life jackets that are free for patrons to check out during their visit.
15) Do you offer lockers?
The waterpark does have keyed lockers for patrons to store valuables during their visit for a nominal fee. These lockers are for a single use.
16) Do any of the waterpark attractions have height or age restrictions?
The triple flume waterslide has a 43-inch height requirement. A height stick is located at the entrance of the attraction to check if a patron will be allowed to ride.
17) Do I have to pay to park?
Red Oaks Waterpark does not have a fee to park. We do encourage our patrons to carpool or to take as few as vehicles as possible to reduce the need for overflow parking lots.
18) Do you offer birthday party or other group packages?
Red Oaks Waterpark does offer group reservations for non-profit and government groups like schools and summer camps. However, do not have birthday party packages or other group programs for the general public. We would love to be a part of your special occasion - simply purchase general admission tickets for your entire group in advance since the waterpark can sell out.
19) Do you offer a season pass?
Red Oaks Waterpark does not currently offer a season pass.
20) How often do the wave pool waves run?
The waves run for 10 minutes and then rest for 10 minutes.
21) Are the pools heated?
The wave pool and River Ride are both heated.
22) I'm not a strong swimmer, do you have lifeguards?
Safety is the top priority at Red Oaks Waterpark. We staff our facility with dozens of well-trained and attentive lifeguards in the event that someone needs immediate assistance. We do, however, ask patrons who are not strong swimmers to avoid putting themselves in water depths or other situations that are beyond their abilities. Free life jacket rental is also available.
