Registration is required at AdvantageOakland.EventBrite.com. The event is free.

Oakland County Community Showcase & Development Opportunities is an event that brings together officials and the planning and economic development teams from local communities in one location so investors, bankers, developers, brokers, real estate agents, homebuilders, business representatives and property owners may connect with them.

“Expanding the availability of affordable housing is a key priority for Oakland County,” said Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter, who will be among the featured speakers at the showcase. “The Community Showcase will bring together communities and developers to learn about the wide variety of resources and opportunities that are available to help make that goal a reality.”

Nineteen municipalities are participating in the showcase to promote local development opportunities, including Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Lathrup Village, Madison Heights, Oak Park, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, Southfield, Troy and Wixom and the townships of Commerce, Groveland, Independence, Lyon, Orion and Waterford and the village of Oxford.

In addition to municipal leaders, participants can meet with county representatives from economic development, planning, brownfield redevelopment and the Neighborhood and Housing Development Division.

Oakland County Community Showcase & Development Opportunities Event, which will offer a continental breakfast, exhibits, and networking opportunities, will take place 7:30-10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at the Oakland County Executive Office Building Conference Center, 2100 Pontiac Lake Road in Waterford.
