Pontiac, Mich., October 18, 2023 — The Michigan Government Finance Officers Association announced that Jody Weissler DeFoe, chief deputy treasurer of Oakland County, has been elected President for a one-year term, effective October 10, 2023.
DeFoe, a Southfield, Mich. resident, brings over ten years of experience in government finance and has served as Oakland County’s chief deputy treasurer since 2013. With her wealth of expertise, she is well-equipped to lead the association and represent the interests of government finance officers across Michigan.
Defoe joined MGFOA in 2014 and has served in various leadership roles, including vice president/secretary, treasurer, and director. She has also served on the Professional Development and Technology Resource Committees since 2016.
"I am honored to serve as President of the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association and look forward to working with my colleagues to advance our mission of excellence and professionalism in government financial management," said Jody Weissler DeFoe.
